A simulator that predicts residual stromal thickness and ablation parameters for both eyes to make refractive planning safer.

This tool plans refractive surgery for both eyes (OD and OS) at the same time on a single page. From preoperative pachymetry, refraction and corneal parameters, it estimates the residual stromal bed (RSB), the percent tissue altered (PTA), the ablation depth and the tissue volumes for the chosen technique (PRK / TransPRK, LASIK / Femto-LASIK or SMILE / KLEX). Colour-coded alerts compare these values against the surgeon-defined safety thresholds to limit the risk of post-operative ectasia.

Key features

Simultaneous bilateral planning for OD and OS, with one-click symmetry copy between the two eyes

Choice of one or several techniques: PRK / TransPRK, LASIK / Femto-LASIK, SMILE / KLEX

Continuous clinical summary: RSB, PTA, central ablation, stromal depths, treated area and volumes

Colour-coded safety alerts based on the customised RSB threshold and the 40% PTA limit

Standard mode (average corneal parameters) and Custom mode (anterior and posterior radii and asphericities: R1, R2, Q1, Q2)

3D visualisations of the surfaces and the lenticule, K1/K2 meridian profiles, and PDF, CSV, TXT or clipboard export

Design a custom multifocal corneal profile to correct presbyopia by LASIK or PRK.

PRESBYpath converts a patient’s data — refraction, keratometry, asphericity and higher-order wavefront — into a custom multifocal corneal profile for presbyopic LASIK or PRK. The optimiser computes an asphericity change (ΔQ) or a combination of Zernike polynomials, together with a spherical addition, so as to maintain good image quality across the whole intended pseudo-accommodative vergence range, and for two pupil diameters at once (distance vision under mesopic conditions and near vision in myosis). Its distinctive feature is that it renders a vergence map expressed directly in dioptres rather than in microns of optical path difference.

Key features

Design of patient-specific multifocal LASIK / PRK profiles

Optimisation by an image-quality score across two pupils and the whole depth of field

Two laser-programming strategies: modulating asphericity Q or spherical aberration

Quality index combining MTF (MTF/MTFa), PSF, Strehl ratio and depth of field

Vergence map in dioptres (total / low-order / higher-order aberrations)

Ablation-profile audit, simulated optotype rendering and a Z(4,0) fallback mode without aberrometry
