Il concerne l’étude des liens entre puissance kératométrique, indice de réfraction, et rapport des courbures entre les faces antérieure et postérieure de la cornée. Il est possible, grâce aux équations publiées, de calculer la valeur de l’indice kératométrique « exact » ou « idéal », qui fait correspondre la puissance kératométrique avec la puissance cornéenne totale. Ceci pourrait être utile à l’étude des erreurs de correction réfractive en chirurgie de la cataracte (formules de calcul de puissance d’implant).

In this work just published in the Journal of Refractive Surgery, equations have been formulated to determine the optimal keratometric index value, facilitating the keratometric power to align with the total Gaussian corneal power. These equations directly assess how corneal variables, such as the ant/post curvature ratio, affect the optimal keratometric index value. The use of these calculations may help to analyze the source of errors in IOL power calculation formulas.

J ai un glaucome à angle fermé + astygmatie. J ai été opérée pour le glaucome ce qui a révélé un glaucome malin. J ai du subir le retrait du cristallin avec une vitrectomie.
Avant l opération, les médecins m ont dit que je serai à coup sur presbyte et qu il serait possible de m enlever l astygmatie.
Après l opération je suis finalement myope et toujours astygmate. Par ailleurs je percois des corps flottant.
Est ce que le glaucome préexistant peut empecher l usage d un implant plutot qu un autre en l occurence conduire a rendre le patient myope plutot que presbyte ? De meme est ce que le glaucome peut rendre redhibitoire la correction de l astygmatie ? Concernant les corps flottant est ce normal meme apres une vitrectomie ?
